Country house by the seaside Villa Lamie (476) Otranto 10letto

Description

layout:  4 double bedrooms + 2, 4 shower rooms
Immersed in the most typical countryside landscape of the Salento, at a few kilometers from the wonderful beaches of the Alimini Lakes, this beautiful villa with swimming pool stands out for its charming atmosphere, where one can relax in the quiet of nature, away from the busiest touristic destinations. Amongst the olive trees and the Mediterranean shrub, one can discover the authentic atmosphere of the Salento, full of sounds, colors and perfumes. The property comprises a main body and an annex. Both are built with the typical features of the local architecture, made of tuff blocks and “pietra leccese” (the most characteristic building material), barrel vaults and white lime plastering; the interiors well harmonize typical objects and pieces of furniture with others of a vintage or more modern style. Lastly, a beautiful swimming pool lies in the  middle of the olive grove in between the two units.

The main body comprises: a spacious living/dining space, with fully-equipped kitchen area, 6/8-seat table, 2 sofas, armchairs and a fireplace; from here, on one side, a suite bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom (with both bathtub and shower); on the other side, walking past a passageway decorated with a nice old wooden sofa, a standard double bedroom on the right, and a shower room on the left; lastly, through a staircase departing from the hallway, there is another double bed on a mezzanine delimited by an iron railing and with a 1,55 mt high ceiling (hence, this accommodation could better do for younger and more adaptable guests).

From the living area, which is very bright thanks to two wide glass doors, one exits -on both the front and the rear of the house- on to the lovely shaded pergolas, provided with stone sofas, garden furniture and dining tables for a total of 16/20 seats, the perfect setting where to enjoy a lively meal with a view on the olive grove (from one such pergola, one can also keep an eye on the swimming pool area).

At around 30 mt from the main body, there is the annex, a typical ancient rural building, so-called “lamia”, with an adjoined citrus grove enclosed by dry-stone walls. Indoor access is gained through three different doors: one taking into the dining room -with kitchen corner, small fridge/freezer, 6-seat table and fireplace-, and then to a shower room; another taking into a trullo bedroom with queen-size bed (140 cm), which communicates with the dining room; and the last one giving access to another trullo double bedroom with en-suite shower room. FIY: none of such two bedrooms has a separation door with the adjoined rooms.
Outside, there is a lovely “secret garden” with citrus and pomegranate trees, paved all-round and delimited by dry-stone walls. An ancient millstone, once used to grind olives for oil production, stands today as an original dining table at the center of this area, so to enjoy nice barbecues in this beautiful open space.

In between the main body and the annex there is the pool, surrounded by lawn and provided with garden furniture, sun-beds, deckchairs, and 2 beach umbrellas. The olive trees all-round provide some nice spots of shade where to relax after a refreshing plunge in the pool.

AMENITIES: washing machine in the laundry (small room indoor, accessible from the suite bedroom); electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, 2 fridges/freezers, 2 kettles, 2 toasters, tablecloths and napkins; 3 hairdryers; stereo and Bluetooth amplifier; TV with Netflix in the living room; Wi-Fi; 2 baby cots and 2 high chairs; air conditioning in all bedrooms and in all other rooms of the main body (except shower rooms); heating system; fireplace; 2 BBQ; outdoor shower; alarm system; 3 bikes. Tap water comes from a dwell and it is sterilized with a UV ray system that ensures sanitization from all bacteria. The pool (15mt*6mt*1,50mt) is with salt-water; the surrounding area is equipped with 6 sun-beds, 4 deckchairs and 2 beach umbrellas. In the annex, the bedrooms doors have blinds with mosquito nets. The property comprises around 30.000 sq. mt. of land. Parking for 6 cars beneath the olive trees.

The weekly price includes: electricity, gas and water utility charges; bed and bathroom linen with an half-week change; housekeeping service by trusted staff for 3 hours twice a week (on request, extra hours at € 9,00 per hour); garden and pool upkeep by a trusted gardener. The end-of-stay cleaning fee is to be paid aside upon arrival, € 180,00. Security deposit required, € 700,00. Pets are welcome. No smoking inside.

*Otranto, beautiful coastal town overlooking the sea, is renowned for its charming historic center and its splendid Romanic Cathedral dating to XI cent., characterized by its mosaic pavement depicting the Tree of Life and the Zodiac (as well as King Arthur), one of the largest and most enigmatic in the world. In the town’s surrounding countryside, there are also the ruins of a pre-Christian civilization, or even dating back to the Paleolithic, as the Dolmens and the Menhirs.
